Naturally Get Rid of Fleas and Ticks

Spring is finally here and it's time to prepare for flea and tick season. I personally am afraid of all the chemicals going into my dogs body from products such as Frontline, so I've been doing some research and came up with a few natural ways to deter these nasty parasites.

1) Flea Collar or Bandana

Bandanas are a great way to add some sass!

What you will need:
- 3 to 5 drops cedar oil or lavender oil
- 1 to 3 tablespoons water
- Bandana (or dog collar)
- An eye dropped (optional)

Directions:
Dilute 2-3 drops of chosen oil in 1-3 tablespoons of water. Apply 5-10 drops of the mixture to the bandana (or collar) and rub the fabric together. Then tie around your dogs neck. Reapply once a week. Additionally. you can use 1-2 drops of oil diluted with at least 1 tablespoon olive oil and place it at the base of your dogs tail.

2) Flea Deterring Drink

What you'll need:
- 1 teaspoon distilled vinegar or apple cider vinegar (we recommend Bragg's)

Directions:
For every 40# dog add 1 teaspoon of vinegar to 1 quart of their drinking water. It deters fleas and helps improve your dogs kind and coat.

Do you know of any other natural remedies to help fight against fleas and ticks? If you do please be sure to share them in the comments below!

Have a great day!
