Summer Heat & Dog Paws

I don't know about you but long walks are on my list virtually everyday (if not shorter ones). The weather is the perfect temperature most days but before you know it the sun will shine brighter, temperature will go up and turn the pavement into the top of a stove set at high. What's the problem with that you ask?

This is why. If it's too hot for your bare feet then it's too hot for your pets paws.

Here are some tips to help get you through the summer:

#1 - Put your bare foot or hand on the pavement for 10 seconds, if it's too hot to keep your foot/hand on it then don't walk your dog on it.

#2 - Stay on grassy surfaces

#3 - Avoid the hottest parts of the day, stick with walking your pup early morning and early evening.

#4 - If you can't avoid pavement then you may want to invest in a pair of doggie booties
